How do I get money out of my PayPal account?

You can transfer money directly to your linked bank account or eligible debit card. Alternatively, you can have us mail you a check.

Here’s how to make an Instant transfer to your eligible debit card or bank account (subject to a fee):

  1. Go to Wallet.
  2. Click Transfer Money.
  3. Click Transfer to your bank.
  4. Select in minutes.
  5. Follow the instructions.

Here’s how to make a Standard transfer to your bank account:

  1. Go to Wallet.
  2. Click Transfer Money.
  3. Click Transfer to your bank.
  4. Select in 1-3 days (No fee).
  5. Follow the instructions.

To withdraw money on the app:

  1. Tap your PayPal balance.
  2. Tap Transfer.
  3. Tap Transfer to bank at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Select in minutes (fee applies) or in 1-3 days (no fee).
  5. Tap Transfer Now.

If you selected Instant Transfer, you should see the money in your bank account in minutes, but this timeframe may vary depending on the bank. If you don’t see the money in your bank account after a few minutes, contact your bank for more information. Our team members can’t change the status of your transfer.

The Standard transfer typically completes in 1 business day. Sometimes, depending on your bank's clearing process, it may take 3-5 business days. If you transfer money on a holiday, it will take an additional business day for the money to appear in your bank account.

Here's how to request a check (timeframe is 5-10 business days):

  1. Go to Wallet.
  2. Click Transfer Money.
  3. Click Request a check by mail (fee applies).
  4. Enter the amount you want to transfer (the minimum is $1.51 USD).
  5. Click Next.
  6. Review your transfer details, then click Request (amount) Now.
  7. Click Done.

The PayPal Debit Card is the fastest way to withdraw money from your PayPal Balance account.

You can withdraw up to $400.00 USD from your account from an ATM each day. Additional ATM fees associated with cash withdrawal and foreign payments may apply.

All transfers are subject to review and could be delayed or stopped if we identify an issue.
