How do I receive my tax refund with PayPal?
To receive your tax refund with PayPal, you first need to have a PayPal Cash Plus account. If you don’t have one yet, it’s easy to set up by visiting www.paypal.com/taxrefund. Also, make sure you have already requested the PayPal Cash Mastercard® and signed up to receive Direct Deposit payments.
To add your PayPal Direct Deposit information to your tax refund form:
- Go to your Settings to locate your routing and account numbers.
- Add both the routing and account numbers to your tax form and select “checking” as the account type.
Once processed, your refund will automatically be added to your PayPal Cash Plus balance and you’ll receive a notification via email.
According to the IRS, most refunds are issued in less than 21 days from the filing of a return. For more information, please visit www.irs.gov.
How do I check the status of my tax refund?
Only the IRS will have the updated information on the status of your refund.
The IRS provides three ways to check the status of your tax refund 72 hours after you have e-filed your return.

- Call the IRS Refund Hotline at (800) 829-1954.
