How do I send money or make a payment with my mobile phone?

You can send money 3 different ways with PayPal Mobile:

The PayPal App:

  1. Go to
  2. Click Get the PayPal App.
  3. Select the phone you have and click Download.

After you complete the download, you can send money via the PayPal App.

Text Message:
After you link your mobile phone number, you can send money via text message.

If you get a text message with a money request:

  1. Send a text to 729725 (PAYPAL).
  2. Specify the amount and the recipient’s phone number or email address. For example:
  • Send $4.99 to 2125551981
  • Send 5 to

Mobile Web:

  1. Go to
  2. Click the Send Money image at the bottom of the page.
  3. Log in to your account.
  4. Enter the recipient’s email address or phone number in the To: box.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. Click Send Now.
  7. To complete the payment, click Send Now.
You can select a preferred funding method for payments made through the regular checkout process, as well as Goods and Services via Send Money. You also have the option to select a different preferred method for online purchases vs. in-store purchases. You can set your preferred payment method on our website or in the PayPal app. Once you send money, you are not able to cancel or reverse the transaction. Please check the details of this transaction carefully.
