Can I cancel a payment that I've already sent?

You can cancel a payment you've sent if its status is 'Unclaimed' in the 'Payment Status' column.
'Unclaimed' means the recipient has not received or accepted your payment yet, so here's how to cancel it:
- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Click History under My Account.
- Click Cancel in the Order status/Actions column of the transaction in question.
- Click Cancel Payment.
You can also check your payment status in My Recent Activity and Payments Sent pages.
If Cancel is not an option in the Order status/Actions column, the payment cannot be cancelled.
Also, please note that all Unclaimed payments are automatically refunded to you if they remain Unclaimed for 30 days.
If the payment status is anything other than 'Unclaimed', you can't cancel it. Instead, we recommend that you contact the recipient to request a refund.
If you've sent an eCheque, the status will appear as 'Pending.' You cannot cancel it. Please contact the recipient to request a refund.
