What is Pay with Crypto?
Pay with Crypto, powered by PayPal, makes it easy for merchants to grow their businesses around the world.
Pay with Crypto enables US merchants to accept crypto payments from global buyers. Enabling consumers to pay with a wide range of cryptocurrencies and eligible third-party and self-hosted wallets, businesses can tap into the crypto market and connect with crypto users worldwide.

Are there any merchant exclusions?
Yes. If you are a merchant in gambling/gaming, you must complete PayPal's due diligence process before you can use Pay with Crypto. If you are a merchant in New York, you cannot currently use Pay with Crypto.
Can I login to my PayPal account to use Pay with Crypto?
No. Pay with Crypto is not yet available to PayPal logged in experience in the United States.
How does settlement work?
Crypto conversion is near instant (seconds); payout follows PayPal’s standard merchant funding schedule.
Can merchants accept crypto directly?
No. Pay with Crypto currently converts crypto into USD payment.
Can any customer Pay with Crypto?
Eligible global customers can Pay with Crypto. Visit our Terms and Agreements for more information.
How does a merchant get started accepting Pay with Crypto?
- Log into your PayPal account and go to the Account Settings.
- Within the Payment Methods, locate Crypto and click Get started.
- Note: Merchants will need to apply and be approved for Expanded Checkout. Once the crypto within their Payment Methods is enabled, there is an automatic check to ensure all the required information for their account is present.
What are the integration requirements for a merchant to process crypto payments?
Merchants would need to use Expanded Checkout and Business Payments and must:
- Have an approved PayPal checkout account.
- Process a request for Crypto in Payment Methods settings.
- Provide business information, accept terms, and complete integration.

How do refunds work?
Once the merchant approves the refund, PYUSD (or another supported stablecoin if the buyer’s wallet does not support PYUSD) is issued into the buyer’s wallet.
Are crypto payments reversible or disputable?
No. Crypto payments are irrevocable and not subject to disputes or chargebacks.
