How do I enroll in PayPal Giving Fund?

If your organization has a PayPal Business account and is a 501(c)3 Public Charity, Private Operating Foundation, a religious institution, government agency, or Indian tribe that is in good standing with the IRS, you’re eligible to enroll with PayPal Giving Fund.

Private Non-Operating Foundations and Supporting Organizations aren’t eligible to enroll with PayPal Giving Fund.

  1. To automatically enroll with PayPal Giving Fund, you need to create a PayPal Business account and select Nonprofit organization. If you don’t have one, you can sign up now.
  2. When you’ve set up your PayPal Business account, confirm your charity by linking your charity bank account. If we're unable to link your bank account, we'll need some information to complete the confirmation process.
  3. Once you receive an email verifying that your charity status is confirmed, your charity is automatically enrolled in PayPal Giving Fund.

If your organization has confirmed charity status but isn’t auto-enrolled in PayPal Giving Fund, please visit www.paypal.com/givingfund/enroll to start the enrollment process. The reviewal process takes up to 2 business days to complete.

Charity accounts in California need to complete the PayPal Giving Fund enrollment form after confirming their charity account (steps 1 and 2 above).

Your charity doesn’t need to enroll to receive grants from PayPal Giving Fund, however, by enrolling it will:

  • Receive grants in your PayPal account in a single monthly payment.
  • Track all donations made to your charity through the charity dashboard.
  • View donor details (where the donor has agreed to share their details with you) to help build your database.
  • Be eligible to participate in additional PayPal Giving Fund programs.
  • Have the ability to update your charity profile page which appears on our partners' platforms such as Facebook and PayPal.
