What is a PayPal Money Pool?
PayPal Money Pool is an easy and fast way to collect money from friends. Whether you need to raise money for a holiday, a group gift, or for regular shared expenses, just create a Money Pool and share it with your friends and family. Please note that you’re responsible for spending the money collected for the purpose set out in your Money Pools page.

You’ll need a PayPal account, so if you don’t have one yet, sign up is easy and free.
- Log in to your account and look for the Money Pools module on your Summary page.
- Click Create a Pool.
- Follow the instructions provided.
No. Creating and running a Money Pool is free of charge. PayPal doesn't charge a fee to open a PayPal account.
What kind of PayPal account do I need?
Money Pools are available to Personal account holders, and in countries where applicable, for Premier account holders. At this time, Money Pools are not available for Business account holders.
How can I report a Money Pool link that violates PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy?
To report a Money Pool link:
- View the Money Pool that has the suspected violation.
- Click Report this Pool at the bottom of the page.
My PayPal account is closed. Why did I receive an email about transferring the balance in my Money Pool?
We’ve sent an email to all customers who’ve closed their PayPal accounts but have a balance in their Money Pool. We’re transferring these balances to you using our Hyperwallet service.
Your Money Pool balance will be available approximately 10 days after the initial date of the email. You’ll then receive a notification with instructions on how to claim your money through Hyperwallet.
