  • It’s only possible to use a PayPal Balance account to create a pool.
  • You must verify your identity with PayPal, and your PayPal account must be in good standing to create a pool.
  • You can collect a maximum of $20,000 per pool, with a limit of 5 active pools per person.
  • You don’t need a PayPal account to contribute to a pool.
  • You can make contributions without displaying your name and/ or the amount in the pool. However, the pool creator will always see your name and the amount. The creator's contribution amount and/ or name cannot be hidden.
  • When the pool ends, you can transfer the money to your PayPal balance by selecting Transfer.
  • All received money is collected in the primary currency of your PayPal account.
  • You must enter an amount to transfer. If you try to transfer without entering an amount, you'll see an error message.
  • You can only transfer amounts up to the available balance in your pool. If you enter an amount higher than your pool balance, you'll see an error message.

Can I keep receiving contributions once my pool reaches its goal?

Yes, people can contribute to your pool until you decide to close it, even if you’ve exceeded your goal amount.

Does my pool stop accepting contributions once the end date has been

reached?

Once your pool reaches its end date, it closes, and contributions can no longer be accepted. However, you can extend your pool’s end date any time before it’s reached. The maximum end date is one year from the start date.

How do I report a pool that violates PayPal's Acceptable Use Policy?

Select Report pool at the bottom of the pool page.
