How do I connect the Terminal to the Printer and Dock?

The Printer and Dock enables you to print receipts and charge your Terminal. You can connect the Terminal to your Printer and Dock Plug and carry them around for printing on the move, or you can plug your Printer and Dock into an outlet, and it’ll serve as a charging station.

To print receipts, your Terminal must be attached to the Printer and Dock. Place it gently on top of the Printer and Dock and it’ll attach magnetically. Pull gently on it to remove it.

To keep your Printer and Dock in place, you can mount it to your worktop. If you want to keep your printer in place, you can purchase a mount and then attach it through the screw hole on the bottom of your Printer and Dock.

The Terminal should fit standard camera mounts with a 1/4-20 screw, which can be purchased at most electronics retailers.

If your Terminal isn’t charging in the Printer and Dock:

  • Make sure your Printer and Dock is properly connected to the cable and adapter provided in your starter pack, and that the light indicator by the charging port is showing a red light.
  • Make sure the Terminal is attached to the Printer and Dock. You should feel that they’re magnetically attached. A printer icon in the Terminal status bar also indicates that it’s connected properly.
  • Dirt can accumulate over time and prevent a charge. Gently clean the 6 small golden circles/pins on the back of the Terminal or on the Printer and Dock with a soft brush/cloth and alcohol. Don’t use anything metallic to avoid damaging the circles/pins.

How do I set up the Printer and Dock to print receipts?

Here's how to set up the Printer and Dock to print receipts:

  1. Open the Point of Sale App from the Home screen.
  2. Tap Menu and then Settings.
  3. Tap Receipt printers to see the available printers. If you don’t see the Terminal Printer and Dock, pull down to refresh the page.
  4. Tap Printer and Dock to connect and perform a test print.

If your receipts won’t print:

  • Make sure that the printer door is closed
  • Test print a receipt (steps to test print a receipt are shown above)

How do I print reports?

Here’s how to print reports:

  1. Open the Point of Sale App from the Home screen.
  2. Tap Menu and then Reports.
  3. Tap the report that you would like to print.
  4. In the upper right corner, tap the printer icon and select Print.

How do I know when the Terminal Printer and Dock runs out of paper?

When you see colored stripes appear on your receipt, your printer is running out of paper. Load a new paper roll before printing your next receipt:

  1. Open the printer door located in the upper part of the Printer and Dock.
  2. Unroll your new printer paper slightly and place it in the cradle with the unwound paper facing upwards and the loose end facing out of the printer, away from the device.
  3. Ensure that your paper follows the curve of the roll and is not bent. Close your printer door.

If your receipts aren’t printing, you may have loaded the paper incorrectly and should try to load it again.

Your Printer and Dock should come with a paper roll already inserted. You can purchase additional printer paper from the Point of Sale store.

Our printer requires thermal paper rolls with the following dimensions:

  • 2.25” (58mm) wide
  • 50’ (15m) long
  • 1.25” (30mm) outside diameter paper roll

The paper rolls for the Printer and Dock are compatible with “Thermal paper 2 ¼ X 50 FT 30MM diameter coreless” (only rolls with a diameter of 30mm or less will fit).

How do I charge the Terminal Printer and Dock?

  1. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the Printer and Dock.
  2. Connect the cable to the USB power adapter provided and plug it in to your power outlet.
  3. A red light will indicate that the Printer and Dock is charging.

When the Printer and Dock is attached to the Terminal, a printer icon in the Terminal status bar indicates that the Terminal is charging and what battery level you have.

My Printer and Dock won’t charge:

  • Connect the cable to the USB power adapter provided, plug it into your power outlet and check if the light indicator is showing a red light, which means that the device is charging. A printer charging icon in the Terminal status bar also indicates that it’s charging properly.
  • Unplug the power outlet and plug it in again.
  • Make sure your cable and adaptor aren’t damaged.
