How do I set up shipping profile calculations?

You can use PayPal to calculate shipping costs automatically on your website.

Here's how to set up shipping profile calculations:

1. Go to your Account Settings.
2. Click Shipping on the left.
3. Click Update to the right of "Shipping calculations".
4. Follow the steps on the screen and enter your shipping information.
5. Review your information and click Save.

Tips:

• Shipping rates depend on order amount, order weight, or item quantity. You can choose rates based on a fixed amount or a percentage.
• You will not be able to use the PayPal Profile Shipping Calculator with PayPal Express Checkout and PayPal Payments Pro accounts. This functionality can only be used with PayPal Payments Standard accounts.
• If your shipping methods require more customization, you may want to integrate PayPal with a third-party application. Go to our Developer Network at https://developer.paypal.com/ for information on integrating a third-party shopping cart or shipping application.

Shipping Calculation Examples

Total order weight (lbs or kg)
A total weight order shipping calculation is based on pounds (lbs) or kilograms (kg).

For example:
From: .01 lbs to 8 lbs
Rate: $2.00 USD

From 8.01 lbs and up
Rate: $4.00 USD

• For a purchase weight of 8 pounds, a customer pays $2.00 USD for shipping.
• For a purchase weight of 14 pounds, a customer pays $4.00 USD for shipping.

Total item quantity (flat rate)
A total item quantity calculation is based on the number of items purchased.

For example:
From: 1 to 25
Rate: $5.00 USD

From: 26 and up
Rate: $10.00 USD

• A customer who purchases 25 items pays $5.00 USD for shipping.
• A customer who purchases 75 items pays $10.00 USD for shipping.

To deactivate your shipping calculator, follow these steps:

1. Go to your Account Settings.
2. Click Shipping on the left.
3. Click Update to the right of "Shipping calculations".
4. Click the box next to the shipping method(s) you wish to deactivate and click Edit.
5. Select Inactive under "Status."

This will remove the shipping calculator from your checkout.
