Can I automatically transfer money to my PayPal Balance account?

Yes. You can set up automatic reloads to add a specified amount of money to your PayPal balance on a set schedule or whenever your balance falls below a threshold amount you select.

Scheduled Reloads
You can set up a recurring schedule to automatically transfer a specified amount from a selected eligible linked bank account or debit card to your PayPal balance at regular intervals (weekly, every 2 weeks, or monthly).

Example: Add $500 from my bank debit card to my PayPal balance every 2 weeks.

Low Balance Reloads
You can select a minimum balance threshold for your PayPal balance and an amount to be transferred from a selected eligible linked bank account or debit card to your PayPal balance when your balance falls below the selected minimum threshold.

Example: Add $500 from my debit card to my PayPal balance when my balance falls below $500.

Here’s how to set-up automatic reloads via the PayPal App:

1. Tap Home.
2. Select PayPal balance.
3. Tap Set up auto reload.
4. Choose either 'Low Balance Reloads' or 'Scheduled Reloads' to set up your automatic transfers.

You can choose the reload amount, set the funding source, and specify the minimum threshold or frequency that will trigger the automatic reload. To change these selections at any time, tap Manage auto reload in the app.

Please note that setting up an auto transfer schedule as well as an auto reload schedule at the same time may lead to conflicts. You may be asked in some of our flows to disable an auto transfer schedule before setting up an auto reload schedule.  

Adding money from your bank account to your PayPal balance usually takes up to 5 business days. Transfers made after 7:00 PM ET or on weekends or holidays can take longer.

Adding money from your debit card usually takes a few seconds. 

What happens if I don't have sufficient money in my selected payment method at the time of an automatic reload transfer?

We’ll send an email notification to you. We won’t charge you a fee, but please check with your bank or debit card provider as charges may apply. We suggest reviewing your automatic reload settings to ensure successful processing for future attempts.

Note that there is a maximum of 2 pending low balance threshold automatic reloads per day. If your low balance threshold automatic transfer is triggered, and while that transfer is pending your balance drops further, PayPal will queue up another automatic reload request.

Are there any fees for using the auto reload feature?

PayPal does not charge any additional fees for your use of the auto reload feature.
