Are Cryptocurrency purchases covered by PayPal Buyer Protection?

PayPal Buyer Protection does not apply to Cryptocurrency purchases. However, Cryptocurrency purchases are protected in the event of unauthorised activity taking place, provided that customers have taken care of and followed the customer's terms and conditions. Cryptocurrency purchases are protected in the event unauthorised activity takes place.

Will I get a private key for the Cryptocurrency I buy on PayPal?

You are given rights to the Cryptocurrency you buy on PayPal but will not be provided with a private key. If you can log in to your PayPal account, you’ll be given rights to the Cryptocurrency balance you hold.

Is there a maximum amount for PayPal's Cryptocurrency service?

The maximum amount for cryptocurrency purchases in the UK is £15,000 GBP per week and £35,000 GBP per year. The weekly max amount for purchasing cryptocurrency will reset on Thursdays at 9:47 AM PST, while the annual max amount for purchasing cryptocurrency is a rolling 365 day window limit.

When I click to 'Buy' Crypto, will I receive the current price displayed on the app?

Yes. The market value of the Cryptocurrency displayed when a user clicks 'Buy' will be the price you pay. That price will update every few seconds to reflect any change to the market value.
