What is the Point of Sale Multisite feature?
The multisite feature is not available for new merchants at this time. Existing merchants can continue using the feature.
If your business has more than one store location, you can activate the Multisite feature for easy, site-based reporting, product catalog, and stock management.
When you’ve started selling at different sites, you can use Reports to track valuable data such as top-selling products and sales stats for each site.
With Multisite, you can use a separate Product Library and Inventory for each site.
Getting started
Here’s how to set up Multisite:
- Go to your Point of Sale online.
- Click Account & Settings.
- Select Multisite.
- Click Activate Multisite to create a Primary site.
Once your sites are set up in your Point of Sale online, you can start using them to accept payments on the Point of Sale App.
What is a Primary site?
The Primary site is always your first site and can’t be deactivated as you must always have one site active.
All transactions before activating Multisite will be grouped under the Primary site on Reports and Receipts.
If you also sell online and have an active integration, the online sales channel will share the inventory with the Primary site when you activate Multisite.
Managing sites
You can edit the names and addresses of your sites using the pen icon.
If you decide to close a location temporarily or permanently, you can deactivate the site. However, you won’t be able to use the site on your mobile devices. You can still access reports and receipts for the site in your Point of Sale online.
If you use the Saved carts feature and deactivate a site, saved carts in the Point of Sale App will be deleted.
Using sites on the Point of Sale App
Once you’ve set up your sites in your Point of Sale online, you can use these sites on your mobile devices. You will first need to select a site to sell at a site.
Once you select a site, all payments taken at that site are reported under that site on Reports and Receipts in your Point of Sale online. If you don’t select a site, you’ll be prompted to choose a site for accurate reporting and receipt creation.
You’ll be automatically signed into the Primary site if you only have one business location.
Switching between sites
You can switch sites by tapping the account profile on the top left corner of the Point of Sale App. The Sites tab is next to the Accounts tab with all the active sites you have previously set up in your Point of Sale online. Select the site you want to log into, and tap Confirm on the confirmation message.
Receipts
Once you log into a site, you’ll only see the receipts for that site. To view receipts from another site, you’ll need to switch sites. You can also refund transactions in your Point of Sale online.
