How do I withdraw money from my PayPal account?

There are two ways to withdraw money from your PayPal account:

  • Instant transfer to your eligible debit card or bank account
  • Standard transfer to your bank account

To withdraw money from your PayPal account:

  1. Go to Wallet.
  2. Click Transfer Money.
  3. Click  Withdraw from PayPal to your bank account.
  4. Select Instant (Free) or Standard (Free).
  5. Follow the instructions.

To withdraw money in the app:

  1. Tap your PayPal balance.
  2. Tap Transfer Money.
  3. Follow the instructions.

The Instant transfer typically takes a few minutes to complete (up to 30 minutes).

The Standard transfer typically completes in 1 working day. Sometimes, depending on your bank's clearing process, it may take 3-5 working days.

Here are a few tips regarding withdrawing money from your PayPal account:

  • Make sure the name on your bank account matches the name on your PayPal account. For example, if your name is James Patrick Smith, but your bank account is in the name of J P Smith, you should enter J P as your first name. If you don’t enter the name exactly as it appears on your bank statement, the transfer could fail.
  • We only support transfers in local currency. If you withdraw money from a foreign currency balance, there will be a conversion fee.
  • Some banks may charge fees for electronic money transfers. Please contact your bank directly for more information.
  • You can’t cancel a request to withdraw money.

All transfers are subject to review and could be delayed or stopped if we identify an issue.
