Once you have opted-in, you will receive an invitation email from PayPal with a unique referral link to start inviting businesses that don’t already have a PayPal business account. They will have to use your link to sign up and set up their PayPal business account.

*Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions (Referral Terms) governs your participation in PayPal’s business referral program (Referral Program) and is a supplement to your PayPal account User Agreement. By participating in or receiving the rewards from the Referral Program, you agree to be bound by these Referral Terms.

  1. Referral Program
    PayPal Australia Pty Limited (“PayPal”) is offering a Referral Program that allows eligible business account holders (“you” or “Referrer”) to, subject to the Referral Terms, earn a reward of AUD$250 (“Referral Reward”) for each new business (“Referee”) who:
    1. signs up to a PayPal business account before the end of [31 December 2024] (“Referral Period”) via the Referrer’s unique invitation link; and
    2. receives payments of at least AUD $100 in commercial transactions via a PayPal Checkout flow (excluding Friends and Family transactions) in their PayPal business account within the first 60 days of them signing up (“Minimum Transaction Requirement”).
  2. Referrer and Reward Eligibility
    1. In order to participate in the Referral Program:
      1. you must hold a valid Australian PayPal business account in good standing (e.g. is not limited or has a negative balance) and receive an authorised invitation to participate in the Referral Program from PayPal;
      2. you must only invite Referees who are not an existing PayPal business account holder; and
      3. you must have the Referee’s express consent to receive information about PayPal.
    2. In order to claim the Referral Reward, your Referee must meet the following requirements (“Rewards Requirements”):
      1. click on the unique referral link provided to you for the Referee to sign up for a PayPal business account;
      2. successfully complete the sign up flow for a PayPal business account before the end of the Referral Period;
      3. meet the Minimum Transaction Requirement via a PayPal Checkout flow; and
      4. have their PayPal business account in good standing.
    3. Once PayPal has confirmed that the Rewards Requirements have been met, you will receive in your PayPal business account AUD $250 for each successful referral of the Referee.
  3. You represent and warrant that:
    1. you do not carry on a financial services business or hold an Australian financial services licence;
    2. you have the Referee’s express consent to (i) receive information about PayPal and PayPal services, and (ii) share Referee’s data with PayPal;
    3. when referring to the PayPal services to the Referees, you must only share the unique invitation link with them and direct them to contact PayPal directly if they have any questions about the PayPal services. You acknowledge and agree that you are not an employee, agent, representative or authorised representative of PayPal and you must not provide financial services of any kind on behalf of PayPal that would require you to hold an Australian financial services licence, or be an authorised representative in respect of the PayPal services; and
    4. you must not use, or participate in, the Referral Program for any illegal or fraudulent purposes.
  4. PayPal reserves the right to suspend, cancel, terminate or modify any or all of the Referral Program:
    1. immediately if there is a breach of the Referral Terms by you or if the Referral Program would pose any risks on PayPal or PayPal’s payment systems;
    2. if for any reason, the Referral Program is not capable of being offered as planned, including without limitation, technical failures, fraudulent activities, unauthorised interventions or any other causes beyond PayPal’s control; or
    3. at PayPal’s reasonable discretion.
    5. If the Referral Program is amended or terminated for any reason, PayPal is not required to credit any Referral Rewards.
  5. PayPal shall, in its sole discretion, determine the PayPal account holders who are eligible to participate in the Referral Program. PayPal reserves the right to review any account or transaction related to this Referral Program and to remove / disqualify any PayPal account holders from receiving the Referral Reward or participating in the Referral Program.
  6. Notwithstanding anything herein, PayPal shall not at any time be responsible or held liable for any defect or malfunction in the Referral Program, and/or for any loss, injury, damage or harm suffered or incurred by or in connection with the Referral Program by any person. You agree to defend, indemnify and hold PayPal harmless from any claim or demand made or incurred by any third party (including Referee) or regulator due to or arising out of your breach of these Referral Terms, your breach of any warranties under these Referral Terms, your improper or illegal use of the PayPal services or the Referral Program or your violation of the applicable laws or the rights of a third party.
