Where are the funds transferred from my PayPal account to my bank account?

Once the transfer shows up in the "Complete" status on your Activity page, that means we've processed your transfer. A transfer to a bank account typically completes in 1 business day, but it can take up to 5 days depending on your bank’s clearing process.

What if my transfer is being held for review?

Our system checks every transfer automatically, and could pause a transfer for further review if there may be an issue. While under review, the transfer would show up in the "Pending" status. Once the transfer passes the review (normally within 72 hours), the status will change to "Complete" and the regular transfer timeframe will begin.

What if there’s an issue with my bank?

If it’s been longer than 7 business days, your bank may have problem processing your transfer. Common problems include an incorrect account number or BSB, or a bank account that doesn't accept electronic funds transfers. It may take up to 1 week for your bank to notify us if there's a problem. We'll email you if we receive any information from your bank.

You can help prevent failed withdrawals by making sure your bank information is correct. An easy way to do this is to remove your bank account and link it again.

If the bank denies the transfer and returns the money to your PayPal account, you’ll be notified by email and charged a bank return fee of $5 AUD.
