Terms and Conditions

  1. The PayPal £5 Cashback promotion (“Promotion”) is open to individuals (natural persons) resident in the UK who are over 18 years of age. Employees (and family members of employees) of any PayPal company, its affiliates, subsidiary companies (“PayPal), eBay Inc., its affiliates, subsidiary companies (“eBay”), any representatives or agents of PayPal or eBay and anyone who may be professionally involved with the Promotion may not enter the Promotion. PayPal reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants. The Promotion begins at 00.00am 19 June 2014 and will close at 23.59pm on 24 July 2014 ("Promotional Period").
  2. By participating in this Promotion, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and all other special conditions that are specific to the Promotion.
  3. Entrants must meet the following criteria to participate in the Promotion:
    1. Have a valid PayPal account.
    2. Receive an email from PayPal offering the entrant to participate in the Promotion using the PayPal account detailed under that email only (“The PayPal Account”) and
    3. Opt-in for the Promotion via the email received from PayPal to their registered PayPal email address.
  4. If, during the Promotional Period, the participant successfully completes the number of transactions set out in the invitation email, each of a minimum of £5 using his/her PayPal account on eBay.co.uk, which involve the purchase of goods and services, PayPal will credit £5 to such participant’s PayPal account. The following transactions are excluded and will not be deemed a successful transaction:
    1. Transactions for the payment of the following articles: gift vouchers, subscriptions; recurring payment orders, partial payments or instalments.
    2. Transactions which we cannot allocate to a purchase (e.g. „send money“ without link to a purchase)
    3. Transactions which are rescinded, or which are declined or otherwise not successfully completed.
  5. Transactions must be made in UK GBP.
  6. Participants are limited to one credit of £5.
  7. PayPal will credit £5 to eligible and successful entrants PayPal account on or around 8 August 2014. At its discretion, PayPal reserves the right to add additional terms and conditions to this promotion.
  8. PayPal reserves the right to suspend, change or cancel the promotion at any time as it may determine in its sole discretion.
  9. If PayPal has suspicions or knowledge that any entrant may be involved in any fraudulent or illegal activity, PayPal reserves the right to disqualify that entrant and any related entrants and your cashback balance will be forfeited. PayPal may also disqualify any entrant that does not act in accordance with these terms and conditions or PayPal’s rules and policies.
  10. PayPal may disqualify any individual using the promotion in a way in which PayPal deems inappropriate at its sole discretion. (inappropriate use of the Promotion includes, without limitation, collusion, manipulation and engagement in any other activity that may give the entrant carrying out that activity an unfair advantage over other entrants).
  11. PayPal shall not be liable, in contract or tort (including negligence), or the breach of statutory duty or any other way, for the loss or damage howsoever arising suffered by any person suffered directly or indirectly from participating in this Promotion. Nothing in these terms shall limit PayPal’s liability for fraud.
  12. Although PayPal will use reasonable efforts to ensure that all information relating to the Promotion (“Promotional Material”) is accurate, PayPal is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions of any communications network, online system or computer hardware or software failure that may affect PayPal’s operation of the Promotion or the PayPal site, including without limitation the accuracy of any Promotional material.
  13. The decision of PayPal is final and legally binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
  14. English law governs this promotion and these terms and conditions.
