Why did I get API error code 10535?
PayPal returned API error code 10535 - Gateway Decline - This transaction cannot be processed. Please enter a valid credit card number and type.
Cause
You submitted an invalid credit card number or type to PayPal.
Solution
Check that the CreditCardType parameter is passing a valid variable, then re-send it to PayPal.
For the United Kingdom, only Maestro, MasterCard, and Visa are allowable. For Canada, only MasterCard and Visa are allowable, and Interac debit cards aren't supported.
Valid credit card types are:
- Visa
- MasterCard
- Discover
- Amex
- JCB
- Maestro (If the credit card type is Maestro, you must set CURRENCYCODE to GBP. In addition, you must specify either STARTDATE or ISSUENUMBER.)
