Step 1: Opt-in during checkout

When you first checkout with PayPal, simply enter your email address and password for your account to verify your identityTo avoid misuse of your account, it’s also best to only activate One Touch on your personal device or computer. 

Step 2: Check for our confirmation email 

Confirmation Mail
We’ll send you an email to confirm your opt-in. And that’s it — you don’t have to do anything else! Remember, you can choose to turn off One Touch at any time you wish. We will also turn it off automatically if you stop using it for a while as an extra precautionary measure to keep your data safe.

Why should I activate One Touch?
Activating One Touch saves you the hassle of entering your login details whenever you shop online. As payment is done through PayPal, you can still be assured of our protection of your financial data, as well as the bonus of Buyer Protection and free return shipping* for eligible purchases.  

Does it work across all devices? 
Yes. Once you’ve opted in for One Touch, you can breeze through checkout for that specific device and browser for 6 months. If you’d like to have the same for your other devices, you just need to do the same opt-in when checking out on that device or browser.

How does PayPal help protect my financial account information when using One Touch? 
We never share full payment information with the stores you shop on, and monitor transactions closely for any possible frauds or unusual activityTo be extra secure, we’ll ask you to log in again whenever you update your PayPal account details, or your financial information. This way, we can make sure it’s you and not someone else using your account.

I still don’t feel safe checking out with One Touch. 
If you wish to deactivate it at any point, you can turn it off from your account profile at any time. The opt-in is always there for you when you feel ready. 

What if the account is not mine? 
If you’re shopping from a mobile device that is not your own, simply click on the Not Me button to log out. Using someone else’s account to purchase something means that you’d be making an unauthorised payment.

How do I create my own PayPal.Me link?
Create your link here for free using your name or your business name (for example: paypal.me/johnsmith). If you don't have a PayPal account yet, signup is fast and free.

How do I share my PayPal.Me link?
You can type your PayPal.Me link in your preferred social media site/app, or send it through email or text message. To find your link, simply go to PayPal.Me page and click My PayPal.Me to log in.

Can I use PayPal.Me on my mobile device?
Of course. You can access your PayPal.Me link on mobile phones, desktop computers, and tablets.

How secure is PayPal.Me?
When you make a payment through PayPal, we’ll fund it with the credit or debit card that you've linked to your PayPal account. Learn more about how to link a card.

If you have multiple cards linked to your PayPal account, you can select one of them as your preferred way to pay, and we'll use it every time when you shop online or send a payment for goods or services.

To set your preference:
  1. Go to Money.
  2. Click Payment preferences.
  3. Select your preferred card, and click Confirm.
Whether you’ve set any preference or not, you can always change again how you want to pay for a transaction during checkout. Simply click Change payment method on the payment page.
You can add a debit or credit card, and send payments for your purchases to the recipient's email address or via PayPal.Me. (Note: Personal payments to friends and family isn't supported in your PayPal India account.)


Pay using recipient's email address
  1. Go to Send payments.
  2. Click Pay for goods or services.
  3. Enter the recipient's email address, and click Next.
  4. Enter the amount you want to send, select the currency, and add a message to your recipient (optional).
  5. Select your shipping address, and click Continue.
  6. Review your payment information and click Send Payments Now.
On the payment page, your payment will be set in the default currency of your recipient’s country or region. If you have an agreement with the recipient, you’re able to change it to other currency. 

After the payment is sent, your recipient will receive a notification email. If they don’t have a PayPal account, they can follow the instructions in the email to sign up for an account and accept your payment.


Pay with PayPal.Me

You can also try PayPal.Me, our new, hassle-free way to pay and get paid. If the person you're paying has a PayPal.Me link, they can share the link with you and let you pay them easily through PayPal. Learn more about how PayPal.Me works.


Useful tip: Preferred way to pay

You can select a debit or credit card as your preferred funding source, and we'll use it when you shop online or send a payment for goods or services.

To set your preference:

  1. Go to Money.
  2. Click Payment preferences.
  3. Select your preferred card, and click Confirm.
