Signing up is easy and we’ve broken down the steps to guide you through the process.

When you see the PayPal button while checking out:


You can choose to sign up while checking out on any online store that accepts PayPal. All you need to do is to choose PayPal as your payment option, and you will be brought to PayPal’s secure network where you can enter your personal and billing information.

STEP 1: Select your account type

Signing up can also be done on our website. Simply select For Shoppers and click Continue.

STEP 2: Create your login details

Let us know the email address and the password you want to use. These will be what you need to log into your account in the future, so make sure to choose a password only you know.

If you’ve already got a business account set up, you’ll need to set up your new account with a personal email address, bank account and credit/debit card. You can also choose to upgrade your personal account to a business one if you don’t already have one.

STEP 3: Tell us more about yourself

Let us know more details such as your name, date of birth, address and contact details. Do ensure the details are the same as those in your PAN card, and don’t forget to check the box to accept our terms and conditions.

STEP 4: Link your credit or debit card

Adding a credit or debit card to your PayPal account not only saves you time when you shop online, but safeguards your financial information and purchases against potential fraud. You can link your credit or debit cards to start shopping immediately.

STEP 5: Verify your email address

Once you create your account, we will send you an email to confirm your email address. We’ll also email you each time you make a payment so you can easily track your shopping.

Click on Confirm Email Address to verify your email address on our network. You can also verify your mobile number by clicking on Get Code to start sending payments from your mobile device.

Open an account:
There's no fee to sign up for a PayPal account.

Goods and services – Purchase payments:
There's no fee to use PayPal to purchase goods or services, but a currency conversion fee may apply for cross-border payments.

If you're a merchant and receive payments for goods or services (such as from selling an item on eBay), a fee will be incurred. Learn more about the fees for getting paid.

Withdrawing funds: 
There's no fee to withdraw funds to Indian bank account. If the withdrawal fails, there'll be a withdrawal return fee.

You can use your PayPal Business account to add users to your account, create multiple logins and access levels, and assign specific privileges so your employees can complete tasks for you. This PayPal feature lets you give PayPal account access to up to 200 employees, each with a unique login ID and level of authority.

If you have a Business account, here's how you can add users to your PayPal account:

  1. Go to Account access.
  2. Click Update in the "Manage Users" section.
  3. Click Add User.
  4. Provide the user's information, check each account privilege you're giving this user and click Save.
Tip: If you give your user the "Money Movement" permission, this user will need to complete verification.

Once the user is added, they’ll receive an email to activate their account and create a password. If they missed the invite, here’s how you can resend it:
  1. Go to Account access.
  2. Click Update in the ‘Manage Users’ section.
  3. Click on Action button of the user.
  4. Click View Profile.
  5. Click Resend.

Would you like to approve certain actions made by your employees?
You can! To get started with Approvals, the primary account holder should add specific users to be approvers and requestors. It requires both to complete the task.
Here’s how to turn on Approvals:
  1. Go to Account access.
  2. Click Update in the ‘Manage Users’ section.
  3. Click Manage Approvers.
  4. Choose the permission from the list and click on Get Started.
  5. Choose the user from the list.
  6. Click Yes, Turn on Approvals.
To turn off Approvals, you need to contact PayPal Customer Service for help.
You can manage your information by going to your PayPal.Me link and clicking My PayPal.Me., or go to your account settings and click the PayPal.Me profile.

I forgot my PayPal.Me link, what should I do?
No problem! Log into PayPal.Me and you’ll see your link. Also, your PayPal.Me link is included in the welcome email we sent when you first signed up.

How can I cancel, delete or change my PayPal.Me link?
Once you’ve created your PayPal.Me link, you won’t be able to delete it. If you want to hide your PayPal.Me link from the world, log into PayPal.Me, tap or click Turn Off My Link. This will prevent people from sending you money. Your PayPal.Me link will still be linked to your PayPal account and won’t be available for others to grab.

What photo will show up on my link? Can I change it?
If you already have a Profile photo saved to your PayPal account, that’s what will show up. If you don’t have a photo or if you want to replace it, you can do that through your PayPal.Me link.

When using the PayPal app, I don't want to be listed in the PayPal search directory. How can I opt out?
You can opt out of the search directory at any time by visiting your settings.
