How To Sign Up 
Signing up is easy and we’ve broken down the steps to guide you through the process.  

When you see the PayPal button while checking out:

can choose to sign up while checking out on any online store that accepts PayPal. All you need to do is to choose PayPal as your payment option, and you will be brought to PayPal’s secure network where you can enter your personal and billing information.

On the PayPal website:


STEP 1: Select your account type 

Signing up can also be done on our website. Simply select For Shoppers and click Continue. 

STEP 2: Create your login details


Let us know the email address and the password you want to use. These will be what you need to log into your account in the future, so make sure to choose a password only you know. 

If you’ve already got a business account set up, you’ll need to set up your new account with a personal email address, bank account and credit/debit card. You can also choose to upgrade your personal account to a business one if you don’t already have one. 

STEP 3: Tell us more about yourself 


Let us know more details such as your name, date of birth, address and contact details. Do ensure the details are the same as those in your PAN card, and don’t forget to check the box to accept our terms and conditions.

STEP 4: Link your credit or debit card


Adding a credit or debit card to your PayPal account not only saves you time when you shop online, but safeguards your financial information and purchases against potential fraud. You can link your credit or debit cards to start shopping immediately. 

STEP 5: Verify your email address



Once you create your account, we will send you an email to confirm your email address. We’ll also email you each time you make a payment so you can easily track your shopping. 


Click on Confirm Email Address to verify your email address on our network. You can also verify your mobile number by clicking on Get Code to start sending and receiving money on your mobile device. 


That’s it, you now have your account set up and ready to go!

Create your link here for free using your name or your business name (for example: paypal.me/johnsmith). If you don't have a PayPal account yet, signup is fast and free.

You can type your PayPal.Me link in your preferred social media site/app, or send it through email or text message. To find your link, simply go to PayPal.Me page and click My PayPal.Me to log in.

If you have a PayPal business account, you can authorise up to 200 users to access and manage your account. You can create unique login information and assign the level of authority to each user.

To manage your business account users:

  1. Go to SettingsIcon Settings.
  2. Click Get started next to "Manage users".
  3. Click Add User.
  4. Provide the users information and click Save.


Note: If any of your authorised users forget their passwords, only you as the primary user can reset their password for them.


To reset a user's password:

  1. Go to SettingsIcon Settings.
  2. Click Update next to "Manage users".
  3. Select the user and click Change Password.
  4. Enter the new password, and click Save.
Open an account:
There's no fee to sign up for a PayPal account.

Goods and services – Purchase payments:
There's no fee to use PayPal to purchase goods or services, but a currency conversion fee may apply for cross-border payments.

If you're a merchant and receive payments for goods or services (such as from selling an item on eBay), a fee will be incurred. Learn more about the fees for getting paid.

Withdrawing funds: 
There's no fee to withdraw funds to Indian bank account. If the withdrawal fails, there'll be a withdrawal return fee.

You have 3 convenient options to request payments from your friends or customers. It's ok if they don’t have a PayPal account yet; we'll help them sign up for one and guide them through the payment. We’ll email you when your payment request or invoice is paid. 

There’s no fee for your to request a payment. You only pay a fee for receiving a payment when your request is paid. When the payment request is paid, the funds are added to your PayPal account balance.
 

Option 1. Send an email payment request

What is PayPal Email Payments?
Email Payments allow you to receive payments from anywhere around the world simply by sending a digital request. The recipients will then receive an email that allows them to pay you with credit/debit card, bank account, or their PayPal balance. If the transactions are eligible for Seller Protection, it’ll be reflected in your Transaction Details page.

How to send a payment request?

  1. Go to Money.
  2. Click Send and request money.
  3. Near the top, click Request.
  4. Enter your recipient's email address, and click Next.
  5. Review the information and click Request Now.

You can request money from more than one person at a time. To do so, just enter their email addresses separated by commas in Step 2 above. 
 

Option 2. Send an invoice

What is PayPal Invoicing?
Online Invoicing is a free management tool to help you automate your invoicing process. The feature provides an easy-to-use invoice template that can be personalised with details such as your company logo, product descriptions, and invoice ID numbers. They can also be customised with discounts, shipping costs, and the currency you wish to be paid in. You can send the invoice via email or a direct link, immediately or at a scheduled later date. Invoices can also be send to multiple recipients at one go, or on a recurring basis.

How to send an invoice?

  1. Click Invoicing.
  2. Select a template you want to use from the dropdown menu. If this is your first time creating an invoice, select Create a new template.
  3. Enter your information, the customer’s information, and the details of the payment.
  4. Click Save template for future use, and then click Send.
 

Option 3. Share your PayPal.Me link

PayPal.Me is our new, hassle-free way to pay and get paid. You can share your personal PayPal.Me link with anyone via SMS, social media platform or email. Your customers can then click or type your link and send you payments. If their payments meet the eligibility for Buyer Protection, their purchases will also be safeguarded by PayPal. Learn more about how PayPal.Me works.
