By using Pay After Delivery (“PAD”), you agree to the following terms and conditions. PayPal has the right, at any time and in its sole discretion, and without prior notice, to terminate, cancel, suspend or modify these terms and conditions.
PAD allows qualifying buyers to purchase eligible items online without being charged for 10 to 14 days after the purchase date. For any purchase of an eligible item, you can see when you will be charged for that purchase in two places: (1) before the purchase, on the screen where you review your information before making an online payment for an eligible item, and (2) after the purchase, by logging in to PayPal and viewing the transaction in your PayPal account activity. Your PayPal account activity also contains an option to pay earlier than the scheduled date, if you wish to select that option.
In order to use PAD, you must first activate PAD. Second, you must pay with a bank account as your payment method. One way to do this is to select a bank account with PAD as your payment method when you review your information before checking out online. Another way is to log into your PayPal account and choose a bank account as your preferred payment method for future payments. If you do this, then the bank account you selected will show up as your default payment method when you check out online. For more information on preferred payment methods, please see the PayPal User Agreement.
PAD is not available to all buyers. In order to use PAD, you must first link a bank account to your PayPal account. PAD is only available if you link a bank account to your PayPal account and choose to use the bank account as a payment method for your PAD-eligible purchases. If you remove all linked bank accounts, or if your linked bank accounts become invalid for any reason, then you will not be able to use PAD.
Not all items are eligible for PAD. You can use PAD only for eligible items of less than $10,000.00. For all eligible items, you will be able to select a linked bank account with PAD as a payment option when you check out online. If you wish to use PAD for a particular purchase, then you should review your information carefully before completing the purchase to ensure that you have opted to use PAD.
PayPal does not charge for the use of PAD. However, it is possible that your bank may impose fees when you use PAD, for example, if you do not have sufficient funds in your bank account when PayPal charges you for the purchase.
When you use PAD:
- PayPal will send you a reminder by email before the date scheduled for your bank account to be charged.
- On the date you are charged, PayPal will charge the entire purchase amount to the bank account linked to your PayPal account that you selected to use for the transaction. Your bank account will be charged the full amount even if you have a balance in your PayPal account. If your bank account has insufficient funds to cover the payment, then you authorize PayPal to try up to 2 more times to charge your bank account for the amount of the payment. If there are still insufficient funds in your bank account after those attempts, then you authorize PayPal to charge any other payment methods you have linked to your PayPal account, in accordance with the PayPal User Agreement.
- Even if you have activated PAD and an item is eligible for PAD, you still need to select a bank account with PAD as your payment method.
- The rights and obligations of the PayPal Purchase Protection program, as described in the PayPal User Agreement, will apply to any eligible purchase using PAD. If you file a Purchase Protection claim before you are charged for a PAD purchase, then PayPal will not charge you until the claim is resolved. You authorize PayPal to charge your bank account for the full amount of the purchase if you lose the Purchase Protection claim.
