If your phone isn’t recognizing the card reader, disconnect and reconnect them. Check for a good fit. If your phone is recognizing the device but the card isn’t reading, make sure the magnetic stripe on the card is in good condition. Also, be sure to swipe in one continuous motion so that the full stripe is read.
1. Tap the Menu icon and select Card Readers.
2. On the next screen, tap Tutorials. Scroll down to the bottom and tap Practice Swiping.
3. Plug your card reader into the audio jack on your smartphone. The icon will show you’re connected.
4. Test the reader by scanning a credit or debit card. The icon will notify you of a successful swipe.
