Answers for charities

Joining PayPal Giving Fund

Can my charity join PayPal Giving Fund?

If your charity is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and is an Item 1 deductible gift recipient, you’ll be automatically qualified for listing on our programs and once listed, donors can nominate you as their benefiting charity.

If your charity is not listed and you believe it should be, please contact us.

Accessing donation and donor details

Where can I see information about donations made to benefit our charity?

You’ll find information about donations made through PayPal Giving Fund to benefit your charity, including donor details (where shared), in the PayPal Giving Fund dashboard. You’ll need a verified and active PayPal business account to access the dashboard.

Donations and Payments

When and how will my charity get paid?

Once we have verified the grant to your organisation, we generally distribute funds once a month by depositing a single payment into charities’ PayPal accounts.

If you don’t have an active PayPal account, we’ll invite you to sign up and verify your charity. When you do, you’ll receive the funds faster, be able to review donor details (when shared) and participate in other PayPal Giving Fund programs. If you choose not to create a PayPal account, we’ll endeavour to grant the funds by other means in accordance with our Donation Delivery Policy.

Donations

Does it cost to donate via the PayPal Giving Fund?

We don’t charge charities or donors for our services. In some cases, our ecommerce partners charge fees on donations made through their platforms, which they’ll disclose on their sites. Visit the GoFundMe website for the latest information on its fees.
