PayPal Giving Fund Australia is a Public Ancillary Fund (ABN 65 106 950 945) registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a tax concession charity and deductible gift recipient (“PayPal Giving Fund,” “we” or “our”). The PayPal Giving Fund is operated for the benefit of Eligible Charities. “Eligible Charities” includes the funds, authorities or institutions that:
are charitable or would be a ‘charity’ within the meaning of the Charities Act 2013 (Cth) if it were not a ‘government entity’ as defined in that Act (with the exception of public and private ancillary funds); and
gifts to which are deductible under item 1 of the table in section 30-15 of Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 (Cth); and
have been verified as to their identity; and
do not promote hate, violence, racial intolerance, or engage in money laundering or other illegal activities.
The PayPal Giving Fund operates a website located at https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/givingfund/home (the “Site”) which assists:
users of PayPal, Facebook and other websites or services with which we partner in donating to the PayPal Giving Fund in support of Eligible Charities; and
charities that may be Eligible Charities in benefitting from donations that the PayPal Giving Fund receives;
(together, “you” or “your”).
When referred to in this policy, the term “personal information” includes any information that can be used to personally identify you. This could include your name, address, phone number, email address or date of birth.

What personal information do we collect?
PayPal Giving Fund Australia collects certain personal information to provide you with a secure, smooth, efficient and customised experience when you use the Services. This information is collected directly from you, via third parties and/or from other persons when they access the Site or use the Services and may include your:
residential and/or postal address
PayPal transaction details
PayPal account details
account or user ID associated with one of our partners
Additional personal information you may provide to us: We also collect and maintain records of other personal information that you voluntarily provide to us, for example through a survey. Provision of such information will be voluntary unless such information is necessary for operating the Site and/or Services or otherwise required (for example, if required by law).
Personal information from other sources: PayPal Giving Fund may also receive information about you from other sources. We collect your PayPal transaction details from PayPal Australia Pty Limited to assist in making donations to Eligible Charities and to maintain records of all individual transactions conducted through the PayPal Giving Fund Services. Those records are associated with each Eligible Charity’s individual account profile within the PayPal Giving Fund system. Please note that your PayPal passwords will never be shared with PayPal Giving Fund.
We may also collect the internet protocol address (IP address) and other identifying information about the computer or device you use to access or use the PayPal Giving Fund Services or the Site to help detect possible instances of unauthorised donations or transactions.
Use and disclosure of collected personal information
PayPal Giving Fund uses personal information to:
operate the Sites and provide the Services, including to:
receive donations, including but not limited to, billing donors and obtaining authorisations for payments (e.g., credit card payments, PayPal or other electronic payments);
verify your identity;
communicate with you about your donations, the Sites or Services and unaffiliated businesses;
create an account connection between you and a third-party account or platform; and
perform compliance checks, evaluate applications, and compare information for accuracy and verification purposes;
communicate with each Eligible Charity;
perform customer service;
evaluate ways to improve the PayPal Giving Fund Services;
comply with our obligations and to enforce the terms of our Sites and Services, including to comply with all applicable laws and regulations;
prevent fraud and manage risk;
manage our business needs, such as monitoring, analysing and improving the Services and the Site’s performance and functionality;
tailor certain Services or Site experiences to better match our understanding of your interests;
provide you with location-specific options, functionality, offers, search results and other personalised content; and
make it easier for you to find and connect with people you may know. For example, we may associate information that we learn about you through you and your contacts’ use of the Services, and information you and others provide to suggest people you may know or may want to transact with through our Services.
When you donate to the PayPal Giving Fund via Facebook or any of our other partners, we disclose your name, address, contact details, donation amount, tax receipt and transaction history to that partner to facilitate the donation.
When you donate to PayPal Giving Fund you can choose to disclose your name and contact information to the benefitting charity you designate. An Eligible Charity that benefits from your donation may use this information to communicate with you about your donation.
We will disclose certain personal information such as your name and contact details collected from you through the PayPal Giving Fund Services to PayPal and other websites and services with which we partner in order to provide the Services as well as to report on and evaluate the operation of our Services.
We may be subject to legal requirements to disclose information collected through the PayPal Giving Fund Services, and our policy is to comply fully with all such legal requirements.

You can review the personal information you have provided us and make any desired changes to such information at any time by contacting us.
PayPal Giving Fund is committed to handling your personal information with high standards of information security. Access to personal information is physically limited within PayPal Giving Fund’s offices, so that only certain PayPal Giving Fund employees can access such information as appropriate to perform specific jobs and tasks (e.g., performing customer service). Some information is also stored in an encrypted form within PayPal Giving Fund’s own facilities.
We use computer safeguards such as firewalls and data encryption, we enforce physical access controls to our buildings and files, and we authorise access to personal information only for those employees who require it to fulfil their job responsibilities.
The security of your account also relies on your protection of your password. You must not share your PayPal Giving Fund password with anyone. PayPal Giving Fund representatives will never ask you for your password, so any email or other communication requesting your password should be treated as unauthorised and suspicious and forwarded to email@example.com. PayPal Giving Fund bears no liability for access to, or use or disclosure of, Personal Information if such access, use or disclosure arises in connection with the theft or disclosure (whether intentional or otherwise) of such password.
