How do I link a bank account to my PayPal account?

Here’s how to link your bank account to your PayPal account.

To link your bank account:

  1. Go to Wallet.
  2. Click Link a card or bank account.
  3. Click Link a bank account.
  4. Select the account type and click Next.
  5. Enter the 'Sort Code' and 'Account Number'.
  6. Review your information and click Agree and Link.

To link your bank account from your PayPal app:
  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap Banks and Cards.
  3. Tap the "+" sign on the top-right corner, then Bank account.
To use your bank account as a funding source, and for security purposes as part of getting verified, you need to add your bank account to your PayPal account and confirm that you're the owner of that bank account.

To confirm your bank account, we'll deposit 2 small amounts (ranging from 0.01 to 0.99 AUD) into your bank account. These amounts will show on your bank statement within 3 to 5 business days. You can review your bank statement or contact your bank to find out the exact amounts of these deposits.

To confirm your bank account:
  1. Go to Wallet.
  2. Click Ready to confirm on the bank account you want to confirm.
  3. Enter the exact amounts of the 2 deposits. For example, if the amounts you received are 0.12 and 0.07, enter 12 and 07.
  4. Click Confirm.
When trying to link a bank account here are some common issues that might arise:

Unable to link bank account:
  • The bank account is already linked to another PayPal account.
  • Your PayPal account is limited.
  • The name on your bank account needs to match the name on your PayPal account.
