What are the fees for a PayPal account?

Signing up for a PayPal account:

It's free to sign up for a PayPal account.

DOMESTIC PAYMENTS

Sending money – personal payments:

It's free to send money to friends or family using your PayPal balance or bank account.

If you use your credit card to make a personal payment in Belgium, a fee of 3.4% + 0.35 EUR is payable by you or the recipient. You can pay this fee or indicate that it is to be paid by the recipient. If the recipient does not wish to pay this fee, they can refuse the payment.

Receiving money – personal payments:

It's free to receive money from friends or family when they send the funds from their PayPal balance or bank account.

If the sender uses a credit card as their funding source, a fee will be charged. The sender can pay this fee or indicate that it is to be paid by you. If you do not wish to pay this fee, you can refuse the payment.

Purchase payments:

It's free to send a purchase payment. When you receive money for a purchase (when you've sold something on eBay, for instance) you are charged a fee of 1.5% - 3.4% + 0.35 EUR.

INTERNATIONAL PAYMENTS:

A fee is charged when you send or receive a payment from someone in a foreign country. Bear in mind a currency conversion charge will also be applied when sending payments in a different currency. For more information on fees, see the Fees section in the User Agreement.

Withdraw/add money:

Transferring money to your bank account or adding money to your PayPal account is free.
