At PayPal, we believe that innovation thrives on the strength of an ecosystem built on academic collaboration, strong talent and the right partners.
In Singapore, the PayPal Innovation Lab facilitates this vision by bolstering our capabilities through research and development, investing in the next generation of tech talent, and collaborating across the ecosystem.
Our programs are designed to reach a wide audience
ranging from knowledge-hungry students to the most experienced industry partners.
Anyone can participate, benefit and contribute to nurture the community and encourage innovation.
PayPal FinTech Program
By weaving industry expertise into the curriculums of our Institutions of Higher Learning partners, we aim to equip students with real-life industry knowledge and work-ready skills via a train-the-trainer arrangement, theory, technical and hands-on exercises, and internship opportunities.
PayPal Women Luminaries Program
An all-rounded program designed to help female tech undergraduates build a solid foundation for their career, the Women Luminaries Program is our commitment to creating opportunities for women in tech to thrive.
PayPal GROWSG Program
A partnership under the TechSkillsAccelerator (TeSA) initiative with IMDA, we provide local tech talent with the resources and support they need to advance the world of payments.
We strive to perform game-changing FinTech research with Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Information Systems experts.
The PayPal Innovation Lab collaborates with Institutes of Higher Learning to nurture the next generation of Singapore’s FinTech research and technology talent. These students gain access to PayPal’s greatest minds, resources, and experiences, while developing technologies and know-how for tomorrow’s FinTech industry.
PayPal was awarded the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s Financial Sector Technology and Innovation (FSTI) Proof of Concept (POC) grant in Jan 2022.
The FSTI POC grant provides funding support for experimentation, development, and dissemination of nascent innovative technologies in the financial services sector. As part of this POC, we demonstrate the reusability of digital identities through the blockchain technology. The whitepaper presenting our project findings can be found here.
Beyond external engagement, we aim to foster a culture of innovation
by creating an inclusive environment and piquing the interest of all across the organization.
Throughout the year, we engage thousands of employees across the world in tournaments, hackathons and meet-ups to keep the innovation spirit alive.
Our physical lab space is where we transform the abstract into tangible.
Proof of concepts, new solutions and use cases are showcased here, as we continuously challenge the way we think about payments.
This is also a space where we welcome our stakeholders, partners and visitors.
