Terms for the use of Payment after 14 Days ("Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen")

The following terms apply for your use of the Payment after 14 Days ("Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen") feature and are incorporated into the PayPal User Agreement by reference.

1. Eligibility

PayPal offers the possibility to some consumers to use the Payment after 14 Days (in German: "Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen") feature. PayPal however reserves the right to decide whether you may use Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen. Eligibility criteria include but are not limited to transaction activity. You are therefore not entitled to claim the right to use Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen. Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen is not available for commercial use.

2. How Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen works

When you do a payment with Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen, the recipient (merchant) will receive the transaction amount immediately in his PayPal account. We will initiate the direct debit from your bank account via direct debit no sooner than at least 14 days from the date of the transaction.

3. Direct debit

In order to use Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen, you must have a valid bank account linked with your PayPal account, and identified it as your primary bank account or preferred funding source or selected the bank account as funding source in the payment process. Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen may not be used with other funding sources such as for example credit card. The entire transaction amount will be funded from the primary bank account linked to your PayPal account, even if you have a balance in this PayPal account.

For each payment using Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen, you authorize PayPal to debit the primary bank account for the full payment amount no sooner than at least 14 days after the transaction date. The exact date, on which we will initiate the direct debit from your bank account, is going to be displayed in your PayPal account statement and in an email which is sent to you.

If the direct debit is not executable, for whatever reason, rejected or if insufficient funds are available, PayPal may use one of the other existing funding sources to obtain the transaction amount. The hierarchy of funding sources as defined in the <Funding payments you send from your account> section of the PayPal User Agreement applies.

4. Choice of funding source

If you have chosen to use Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen for a transaction, we will debit the entire transaction amount from your bank account also if your balance covers the transaction amount. The use of gift vouchers or other special funding arrangements (as defined in the <Special Funding Arrangements> section of the PayPal User Agreement) is excluded when using Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen.

However, even when you have registered for Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen, you may choose a different funding source for each transaction. That means that you may decide for each transaction whether you want to use Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen or another available funding source such as credit card, Balance or direct debit without the functionality Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen.

5. Availability, suspension, and termination of Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen by PayPal

In some instances, Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen will not be available for single transactions even though you are generally eligible for Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen.

PayPal has the right, at any time, to terminate, cancel, suspend or modify Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen, qualifications or eligibility for Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen, or your ability to use Bezahlung nach 14 Tagen. Transactions which you have already initiated will still be performed.
