Pending balance availability information

Temporarily pending balance availability information

When new merchants have recently started to sell with PayPal, payments may be temporarily placed in their pending balance for up to 21 days. Delaying access to your funds is part of our security measure to help us make sure transactions complete successfully.

When we place your funds in your pending balance, it isn't immediately available to spend or withdraw.

You sell an item and the buyer pays with PayPal.
The payment goes into your PayPal account's pending balance.
You ship the item to the buyer, or perform the service.
The buyer receives their order and has time to review it.
If the buyer doesn't report any issues, your funds are available within 21 days.
If you mark the order as shipped or processed, your funds may be available sooner than 21 days, based on the estimated delivery date.

Selling on your own
