Personal account holders in Taiwan can choose to withdraw PayPal funds to their E.SUN bank account, other local bank accounts, or their bank account opened in the U.S.  

Withdraw your balance in NTD or USD to your E.SUN bank account

Through our partnership with E.SUN Bank, you can withdraw funds in all major currencies from your PayPal account into your E.SUN NTD and USD bank accounts through E.SUN Global Pass. It takes 3-7 business days for E.SUN Bank to process the transfer and deposit the funds into your E.SUN bank account. Withdrawals may also be subject to certain minimum withdrawal limits.

To make a successful withdrawal, the name on your PayPal account should match the name on your bank account. Please make sure that the both names are written in the same language using the exact same characters. For example, if your PayPal account name is "Wang XiaoMing," but you use your Chinese name "王小明" to open an E.SUN bank account, you won’t be able to link the 2 accounts.

In this case, you can request E.SUN Bank to add your English spelling name as the secondary account holder name. You’ll need to provide a valid ID proof, such as your passport, which displays your official English spelling name.

Here's how to withdraw via the E.SUN's website:

1. If you’re not yet an E.SUN customer: Visit the nearby branch to open an E.SUN NTD or USD bank account.
2. If you don’t have access to E.SUN online banking: Enable the online banking service at the branch.
3. Log in to E.SUN online banking site and use E.SUN Global Pass to link your PayPal account.
4. Make a withdrawal through E.SUN Global Pass.

Withdraw your balance in NTD or USD to your other local bank account

If you fulfill the following conditions, you can choose to withdraw PayPal funds through E.SUN Global Pass to another local bank account under your name:

• You must own a PayPal Personal account;
• You must be over the age of 18;
• You must NOT have opened an E.SUN bank account already
• You must hold a ROC National ID;
• If you need to withdraw to a non-E.SUN Bank foreign currency account, you need to hold a valid ROC passport at the same time.

Note: If you’re already an E.SUN customer and have linked your PayPal account to your E.SUN bank account(s), this cross-bank withdrawal option won’t be available.

Withdraw your balance in USD to your U.S. bank account

You may withdraw money in USD from your PayPal account to your U.S. bank account. It can take 1 business day for the money to appear in your bank account.

Here’s how to make a Standard transfer to your bank account:

1. Go to Wallet.
2. Click Transfer Money.
3. Click Transfer to your bank. (may be subject to fees)
4. Select in 1-3 days 
5. Follow the instructions.

To withdraw money on the app:

1. Tap your PayPal balance.
2. Tap Transfer Money.
3. Tap Transfer to bank. (may be subject to fees)
4. Tap in minutes or in 1-3 days. 
5. Follow the instructions.

The minimum amount you can withdraw may differ depending on the withdrawal type:  

For withdrawals via E-SUN Bank, please note that if you have less than the minimum withdrawal amount remaining in your PayPal balance, you must withdraw the entirety of your balance (e.g. if you only have 2 USD remaining in your PayPal balance, you must withdraw 2 USD (reduce PayPal balance to 0) in order for your withdrawal to be processed by E-SUN Bank).
