By using or participating in PayPal's "Invite Friends" feature (the "Programme" or "Invite Friends Programme"), you agree to the following terms and conditions (the "Terms"). PayPal has the right, at any time and in its sole discretion, and without prior notice, to terminate, cancel, suspend or modify the Programme or these terms.

The Invite Friends Programme allows you to invite people you know to sign up for a PayPal account. You can earn PayPal rewards when friends you invite to join PayPal through the Programme sign up and complete an eligible transaction. If you are the person inviting friends to join PayPal, you are a "referrer" under these terms, and if you are a person who receives an invitation, you are a "referee."

Eligibility:

  1. ‘The Promotional Period’
    1. The Programme is active from 4 November 2019 at 12.00am to 31 December 2019 at 11.59pm UK time (the “Promotional Period”).
    2. In order to be eligible to earn rewards through the Programme, referrers must have a UK PayPal account in good standing at the time they send an invitation and both participants (both referrers and referees) must have a UK PayPal account in good standing at the time when reward(s) are issued. An invitation is €0.01 sent to the referee via “Send Money” payment in the app or web. The referrer can claim a reward for a maximum of 5 referees that satisfy the conditions outlined.
    3. Both referrers and referees will be eligible to earn a reward only when the referee satisfies all of the following conditions (the “Reward Criteria”): (i) accesses and completes the PayPal sign up process to claim the referrer’s €0.01 sent; (ii) the referee must link their bank, credit card or debit card to their account; and (iii) completes an eligible transaction of minimum €5 of value within Promotional Period. An eligible transaction (an “Eligible Transaction”) means: (a) an online checkout payment of at least €5, sent from the linked bank account, credit card or debit card, which is marked as "complete" in the referee’s account; or (b) a person-to-person payment (sent to anyone other than the referrer) from the linked bank account, credit card or debit card, which is marked as ‘received’ by the recipient. A person-to- person payment (a “Person-To-Person Payment”) is where a person sends money to another person using their PayPal account, not a purchase using PayPal.
    4. Transactions which have been: (a) cancelled; (b) refunded; (c) reversed by either the referee or the seller; (d) Person-To-Person Payments giving rise to reversals; or (e) Person-To-Person Payment sent to the referrer will not be regarded as an Eligible Transaction for the purpose of satisfying the Reward Criteria.
    5. If two or more referrers invite the same referee, we will credit the reward to the person who sent the €0.01 first. Referrers may earn up to a total of €50 in rewards through the Promotional Period ("lifetime reward limit"). Referees may earn up to €10 once they have completed sign up, linked their bank account, credit card or debit card and transacted an eligible transaction within the Promotional Period.
  2. Invitations
    1. You may only send invitations to personal friends and acquaintances, and may never publish or distribute your invitation in public locations where the audience is likely to include people who are not your personal friends. If you post your invitation on any third party website, such as a social media website, you must also comply with that website’s terms of use.
    2. Please note that whenever you decide to share your invitation, you must tell your referees that you could receive a reward from PayPal if they sign up and complete an eligible transaction. Failure to disclose this information is a violation of these terms and could result in PayPal disqualifying you from the Programme and you may forfeit any rewards you would otherwise have earned through the Programme.
  3. Receiving and Using Rewards
    1. Rewards will post to your PayPal balance no later than 13 January 2020, 11.59pm UK time.
    2. Standard rewards are €10. Specific reward details, such as amount, will be disclosed to you when you send an invitation and in related promotional materials.
    3. Reward expiration date and exclusions will be included in the email PayPal sends you to notify you that a reward has been issued. PayPal reserves the right to limit, cancel, or revoke a reward if PayPal determines, in its sole discretion, that you have violated these terms and conditions, or if we restrict or close your account pursuant to our User Agreement.
  4. This Promotion is governed by English law. By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and the paypal.co.uk User Agreement.
