How do I confirm my bank account with PayPal?

For security purposes, we may ask you to confirm that you’re the owner of the bank account linked to your PayPal account.

Here's how to confirm your bank account:

  1. Go to your Wallet.
  2. Click the bank account you want to confirm.
  3. Click Confirm.

We’ll then send two credits of less than 1 CHF to your bank account. You can review your online bank statement, wait for your next paper statement, or contact your bank to find out the exact amounts of these credits.

Here's how to confirm your bank account when you know the amounts of the 2 credits:

  1. Click Wallet at the top of the page.
  2. Click Unconfirmed next to the bank account you want to confirm.
  3. Enter amounts of the 2 credits and click Confirm. (You have 3 attempts).
  • When adding a bank account to your PayPal account, you first need to accept a Direct Debit Mandate before using it to make payments.

  • If a future payment fails from your bank account, you may need to accept the Direct Debit Mandate again. If this is the case, you’ll see a prompt to ‘Complete setup’ next to the bank account in your Wallet.
