Why should I link a bank account or a card to my PayPal account?

You can make your online payments simpler and quicker by linking your card to your PayPal account. During checkout, you won’t need to pull out your wallet and enter your card details or any personal information. You can check out with PayPal with just your email address and password wherever PayPal is accepted.

Other benefits of linking your bank account or card to your PayPal account include:
  • You won't need to have money in your PayPal balance to make a payment. We can simply take the money from your card.
  • When you make a payment through PayPal, we keep your sensitive financial details encrypted.
  • You can withdraw money from your PayPal account to your bank.
  • You can add money to your PayPal balance from your bank. (Sending money to family and friends in Switzerland (in CHF) is free when you use your PayPal balance.)
  • Your sending and withdrawal limits are removed.
  • Buyers and sellers have greater confidence to do business with you because your verified status provides stronger account security.
