Manage users

Use your PayPal Business account to add users to your account, create multiple logins and access levels, and assign specific privileges, so your employees can complete tasks for you. For example, you can assign privileges to your accountant, administrative assistant, or developer if you have people in these roles.

This PayPal feature lets you give PayPal account access to up to 200 employees, each with a unique login ID and level of authority.

Managing Users to maintain internal controls

Because this feature lets you grant access to your PayPal account to multiple people while limiting their ability to do certain functions, you can keep your business running smoothly by delegating tasks, but avoid the worries of granting employees more access to sensitive information or features than is necessary.

For instance, you may find it useful to give an employee access to view the Transaction History of your PayPal account so he can verify that a payment was received and prepare the product for shipping. By creating a login ID with this "view only" permission, you allow the employee to view account information, but he cannot send or withdraw money.

Here are the privileges you can assign to each employee:

  • Send Money
  • Request Money
  • Add Funds
  • Issue refunds
  • Withdraw funds
  • Cancel payments
  • Distribute mass payments
  • Schedule recurring payments
  • View balance
  • View profile
  • Edit profile
  • Discuss account with Customer Service
  • Handle authorizations and settlements
  • Use PayPal shipping
  • Activate and authorize APIs
  • Schedule and download Transaction History, and run Settlement Report

To get started using adding users to your account and managing their levels of access, log in to your PayPal account, go to your Profile, and click Manage Users under Account Information.
