Keep a balance in one or more foreign currencies. Or, let us convert it for you at a competitive rate, saving your overseas recipients the trouble.
Note: Currency restrictions do not allow conversion of Argentine Pesos, Brazilian Real, or Malaysian Ringgit.
When you're ready to make a payment, simply transfer enough money from your bank account to your PayPal account to cover the full payout. If the regular amount is always the same, you can set up an automatic transfer through PayPal.
Upload a file showing each recipient's email address, payment amount, and currency. This is easy to do in Excel, or through PayPal's Mass Payments API. You can edit this file, and add a personal note and useful ID, too.
When you've double-checked your payment info, click Send and recipients will receive an email notification when the process is complete. You'll get one, too.
The recipient clicks on the PayPal link in the email. They'll be linked to PayPal to access your payment. If they don't have a PayPal account, we'll send them instructions. Signup is free, easy, and takes just a few minutes.
The recipient can transfer the money to their bank account (bank transfers usually take 2—3 days to clear) or spend it online anywhere PayPal is accepted. It costs them nothing to accept your payment.
If your payment hasn't been claimed within 30 days, the money will be returned to you. You can cancel any unclaimed payment at any time.
Your recipients pay nothing to receive payments and there's no setup fee or monthly fee for you. You pay a low transaction fee of 2% for each payment, capped at $1 per payment. So if someone is lucky enough to receive a $10,000 payment from you, your payment fee is only $1*. And because you save money on postage, stationery, and the time it takes to mail checks, Mass Payments could help reduce your operating costs.
* For Mass Payments to recipients within the U.S., the fee is 2% of total up to $1 per payment. For Mass Payments to recipients outside the U.S., the fee is 2% of total up to a maximum of $20.00 USD per payment, or the foreign currency equivalent of $20.00 USD.
It's easy to start sending mass payments online. First, choose how you'd like to send us your payment information (e.g., email addresses and payment amounts).
Create a simple tab-delimited payment file and upload it directly to our site. It's easy to do in Excel or NotePad. We'll scan your file and make sure it's formatted correctly.
