PayPal Payments

PayPal: one partner, many ways to get paid

We offer the tools today's companies need to do business. Our payment-processing and business tools help you get paid – whether you're selling online, offline, or some combination of the two. So you can, for example, sell your perfected salsa online, in your local storefront, and at the annual jalapeno festival. And unlike other payment solutions, PayPal doesn't have setup fees or long-term commitments. It's a hassle-free way to get paid almost anywhere you do business. Here's a look at the many ways our solutions can work for you.

PayPal makes buying and selling easier

Our payment solutions let you accept credit card payments on your website or on an online marketplace like eBay or Etsy, and customers can use the PayPal checkout by credit or debit card without ever setting up a PayPal account. Buying is straightforward, and because most fees are a flat 2.9% plus 30 cents per transaction, selling is just as simple. See all merchant fees here.

Sell online

With fraud protection tools data security, and reliable customer service, PayPal is a solid option for any ecommerce business. Whether you just want to add PayPal as a payment option to your existing checkout or use PayPal to process all of your online payments, there's a choice that's just right for your business.

PayPal Express Checkout: You can add PayPal as a payment method to any checkout. Express Checkout offers the ease of convenience and security of PayPal, can be set up in minutes and can turn more shoppers into buyers. More than 179 million active accounts around the globe have active digital wallets with PayPal.1 Many look specifically for the PayPal checkout button when completing transactions on retailers' websites and mobile apps. (See all merchant fees here.)

PayPal Payments Standard: This option is perfect for businesses that are just starting out. It lets you accept credit and debit cards, plus PayPal and PayPal Credit. With Standard, adding payment buttons to your site takes little more than copying and pasting a few lines of HTML code – no developer help required. When customers check out, they pay securely on PayPal.com before returning to your site. PayPal Payments Standard has no monthly or setup fees and no long-term commitments. You only pay a transaction fee when you get paid. (See all merchant fees here.)

PayPal Payments Pro: This option is perfect for those who want to accept credit and debit cards, PayPal, and PayPal Credit, but need a more customizable solution. With PayPal Payments Pro, we'll help your developers create a unique checkout process that's integrated with your online store, making the purchasing experience seamless for your customers. You can choose everything from the colors to the layout and language. You pick the details in order to develop a checkout process that's perfect for your business.

In addition to online orders, PayPal Payments Pro lets you process credit card payments over the phone, by fax, or by mail with Virtual Terminal. Virtual Terminal lets you enter a customer's credit card information directly into your PayPal account, so you can be flexible and accept payments in the way that's most convenient for your customer.

PayPal Payments Pro with Virtual Terminal is $30 per month plus a per-transaction fee, but without additional setup fees or long-term commitments. (See all merchant fees here.)

Sell on the go or in store

We know you have to meet your customers where they are, and that's not always behind a computer screen. Our mobile payment system, PayPal Here, lets you morph your smartphone or tablet into a portable payment center, so you can sell on the go, too (alternate rates apply). The free standard card reader can process cards with a magnetic stripe, or you can choose the chip card reader, which accepts magnetic stripe card, chip card, and contactless payments like Apple Pay. The chip card reader is $149 with a $100 rebate to your PayPal account after $3,000 is processed within three months. (See the terms here.) Online or offline, PayPal helps you get paid virtually everywhere.

Manage cash flow and business expenses

When you start accepting payments through PayPal, you're also eligible to apply for a PayPal Business Debit MasterCard that earns 1% cash back on signed transactions. That means you can spend the money in your PayPal business account and earn money while doing so. See the Cardholder Agreement.

PayPal Invoicing, you can generate professional-looking invoices that are easy for you to create and track and easy for your customers to pay.

PayPal Working Capital2 is another way we help businesses keep things flowing. Available to businesses once they start processing payments with us, this is a business loan option that makes sense for today's small businesses. It can be difficult and time-consuming to secure a traditional loan, but PayPal Working Capital doesn't go the usual credit check route. Approval for Working Capital is based on your PayPal seller history. Repayment works differently from traditional loans, too. You'll pay one fixed fee, and payments are made as a percentage of your PayPal sales. It's a whole new way to look at loans and one more way we help you do business.

PayPal helps you reach more customers and makes it easy for you to get paid, however you do business.
