Enable your charity to receive donations via the Venmo app

PayPal confirmed charities in the US can create a Venmo charity profile and receive donations from Venmo users.

Venmo users see the charities in their Venmo feed when their friends share donations and can donate within their Venmo app.

Before you start receiving donations from Venmo users:

  1. Confirm your charity with PayPal if you haven’t already done so.
  2. Check that your PayPal account owner is correct. (The PayPal account owner will also be listed as the Venmo account owner).
  3. Go to Venmo charity profiles Business Tools to create or log into your Venmo account.

Already have a Venmo account?

You can use your existing Venmo account to create your charity profile, as long as your Venmo account doesn’t already have an associated business profile. The first and last name on this Venmo account must match the first and last name on your PayPal charity account.

If your Venmo account already has a business profile, it can’t be used to create the charity profile. You’ll need to create a brand new Venmo account.

Note:

  • Venmo charity profiles must be managed via the Venmo app. However, you can see transaction history and statements by logging in to your Venmo account from a web browser.
  • If you’ve already enrolled in PayPal Giving Fund, you can add your charity’s description, logo, and other details, which are automatically copied to your Venmo charity profile.
  • If you're creating a new Venmo account, we recommend using a company cell phone number instead of a personal number.
  • You can access your transaction history and statements by logging into your Venmo account from a web browser.
  • Each charity can only create one Venmo charity profile.

What’s the fee rate for receiving donations via Venmo charity profiles?

A standard Venmo charity transaction rate applies.

Venmo charity profiles offers a new fundraising opportunity to receive donations on the Venmo app, which offers increased visibility of your charity to millions of app users.

When you create a Venmo charity profile, Venmo app users can find you in their Venmo feed or by search, and they can make donations directly in the Venmo app. All donations are sent straight to your Venmo charity profile balance, where you can transfer them to your bank account.
