Does my charity have to enroll with PayPal Giving Fund to receive donations made for its benefit?
No, but your charity is encouraged to do so.
The PayPal Giving Fund enrollment process enables us to pass on funds securely and efficiently. However, if your charity does not enroll in PayPal Giving Fund and we receive donations intended to benefit your charity, we will attempt to deliver the funds via check after we have determined that your charity meets our requirements for receiving grants from PayPal Giving Fund.
Enrollment offers several advantages though: your charity will receive payments more quickly—typically within 15-45 days of PayPal Giving Fund’s receipt of the donation. (Charities that do not enroll will be sent a check, subject to PayPal Giving Fund’s due diligence on the charity pursuant to our Nonprofit Certification Policy).
Enrolled charities will also get donor information (unless the donor did not opt to share it) and donation details from the partner program where the donation was made. When you enroll you can also manage your charity’s public profile page, add your organization’s logo, and tell your story in a way that can encourage more donors to support you.
