If an FDIC-insured bank fails, each depositor is eligible for insurance coverage up to the standard deposit insurance amount (currently, $250,000 ). This limit applies per depositor, not per account.
What amount of insurance coverage am I eligible for?
If a bank failure occurs, and you have enrolled in PayPal features that include pass-through insurance (currently only available to select U.S. customers in beta), the FDIC will add the amount in your PayPal account to the amount you have in other accounts you have with the same bank. If the total amount you have in all of your deposit accounts (for each account ownership category) with the bank is greater than the standard deposit insurance amount, then your deposits might not be fully insured.
