This page details and/or previews updates to PayPal users of changes to the United States PayPal User Agreement or other online agreements, policies, or statements that require notice. You can also review Past Policy Updates notices. Note that additional changes could be made to previewed agreements on or before the effective dates listed, provided the applicable notice requirements are met.

Upcoming Changes

We’re making changes to certain agreements (listed below) that govern your relationship with PayPal. These changes will take place automatically on the corresponding effective date(s) shown below.

Actions Needed

Please carefully review the notices below and familiarize yourself with the upcoming changes. By continuing to use our services after the changes take effect, you agree to be bound by those changes. Otherwise, no further action is needed from you to accept such changes. However, if you would prefer to decline them, then you will need to close your PayPal account prior to the applicable effective date, as described in the user agreement.

Issue: March 9, 2026

Amendments to the PayPal Cryptocurrency Terms and Conditions
Effective on or after April 20, 2026:

• PayPal’s crypto services will transition from PayPal, Inc. to PayPal Digital, Inc. The date on which this transition occurs is referred to as the “Transition Date.” On the Transition Date, PayPal Cryptocurrencies Hubs will automatically convert to cryptocurrency accounts provided by PayPal Digital. No action is required to continue using PayPal’s crypto features, which will remain accessible through the PayPal app or website using existing PayPal account login information, with no new registration or account setup required. On the Transition Date, the current PayPal Cryptocurrency Terms and Conditions will be replaced in full by new terms, which you can preview below before the Transition Date. If you wish to retain a copy of the current terms between you and PayPal, Inc., please visit our website and download a copy prior to April 20, 2026.

Amendments to the PayPal User Agreement
Effective: May 7, 2026

• The sections titled “Authorization of specific transactions” and “Automatic payments” of the PayPal User Agreement have been updated to clarify that, for certain automatic payment transactions, you authorize PayPal to charge part of the transaction amount to your selected or preferred funding instrument and the remainder to a backup funding method.

Amendments to the PayPal Balance Terms and Conditions
Effective: May 7, 2026

• The section titled “Authorization to Charge Your Balance Account” of the PayPal Balance Terms and Conditions has been updated to clarify that, for certain automatic payment transactions, you authorize PayPal to charge part of the transaction amount to your Balance Account and the remainder to a backup funding method.

Amendments to the PayPal Rewards Program Agreement
Effective: August 1, 2026

Please note that certain features of the PayPal Rewards Program are being updated as follows:

• The option to redeem PayPal Rewards Points for cash back into your PayPal balance account or directly into a linked bank account or linked debit card will be discontinued.
• The option to redeem PayPal Rewards Points for cash back deposited into a PayPal Savings account will also be discontinued.

If you would like to redeem your PayPal Rewards Points using either option listed above, you must do so before 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time on August 1, 2026. Alternatively, you may explore other available options to redeem your Rewards Points, for example, by redeeming at checkout.

Please also note that on or after June 29, 2026, participation in and receipt of future program benefits may require your enrollment or opt-in through the PayPal app, website, or during checkout (for example, by taking a specific action or checking a box).
