Terms and Conditions

By participating in PayPal’s sign up for the chance to get £10 offer (the 'Programme'), you agree to the following terms and conditions (the 'Terms and Conditions').

Eligible Participant: To be an eligible participant (an “Eligible Participant”), each participant must: (1) be eighteen (18) years of age or older; (2) be a resident in the United Kingdom; (3) open a UK personal PayPal account that remains in good standing through Reward fulfilment (a “Valid Account”); and (4) view or hear a paid media advertisement and/or onsite banner inviting participation in the offer (“Invitation”). The offer is limited to the first 170,000 (one hundred and seventy thousand) participants who successfully claim the Reward (as defined below) on a first-come, first-served basis. Rewards expire on 30 November 2022.

Offer Period: Starts at 12:00:00 a.m. British Summer Time (“BST”) on 14 September 2022 and ends on 31 October 2022 at 11:59:59 p.m. BST or until the cap of 170,000 redemptions has been reached, whichever happens first.

How it Works: An Eligible Participant must successfully complete the following during the Offer Period to qualify for a Reward (defined below):
1. Click the link in the Invitation, and when prompted on the offer landing page sign up for a Valid Account; or sign up for a Valid Account through any PayPal sign up flow on PayPal.com or using the PayPal app, and
2. Make an Eligible First time Purchase (defined below) of £10 GBP (ten pounds) or more using the Eligible Participant’s Valid Account (defined below) during the Offer Period. Signing up for a Valid Account is subject to verification by PayPal.

Eligible First Time Purchase. An “Eligible First Time Purchase” means your first purchase transaction (including donations, send money transactions or online purchases) of £10 GBP (ten pounds) or more in GBP using the Eligible Participant’s Valid Account during the Offer Period. Eligible First Time Purchases do not include: (1) receiving money transactions (including those marked as a “Goods and Services” payments) into your Valid Account; (2) PayPal Business Debit Mastercard® purchases made using the card directly and not through your Valid Account; or (3) transactions made in any other currency other than British pounds. If an Eligible First Time Purchase is returned, refunded, results in a failed capture, or otherwise does not complete during the Offer Period, that Eligible Purchase will not qualify toward earning the Reward.

Receiving and using Rewards. The reward amount is a £10 voucher (the “Reward”).
Once received, and qualified for, the Reward will be automatically applied the next time that the Eligible Participant checks out with PayPal using their Valid Account during the Offer Period (“Eligible Reward Purchase”). Eligible Reward Purchases do not include: (1) purchases made using PayPal.me; (2) PayPal Business Debit Mastercard® purchases made using the card directly and not through your Valid Account; (3) PayPal transaction fees; (4) purchases made using PayPal balance funds that were received into Valid Account holder’s new PayPal account before they made their Eligible First Time Purchase as prohibited by point 4 (1) above; (5) receive money transactions; or (6) transactions made in any other currency other than British pounds. Rewards will be viewable in the “Offers” section of the Eligible Participant’s Valid Account. The Reward does not constitute electronic money, is not deemed part of your PayPal balance, has no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash, used to purchase gift cards or transferred out of the Eligible Participant’s Valid Account. The Reward is separate and different to PayPal balance. The Reward must be redeemed by 30 November 2022 and may only be redeemed as described in these Terms & Conditions. Use of the Reward will be reflected on the Eligible Participant’s PayPal receipt and/or in the transaction details of their Valid Account. Rewards should be visible in the “Offers” section of your Valid Account within ten (10) days and must be used no later than 30 November 2022. There are only 170,000 (one hundred and seventy thousand) Rewards available during the Offer Period; Rewards will no longer be available once the limit is reached. There is a limit of one (1) Reward per Valid Account.

Miscellaneous: A Valid Account must remain in good standing from the time of participation through Reward fulfilment, as determined in PayPal’s sole discretion. PayPal may provide an alternate reward of equal value if it is unable for any reason to fulfill the Reward. If item(s) purchased using a Reward are returned and the Reward has expired, PayPal will first refund the money spent to the payment method used to complete the Eligible Reward Purchase and purchase amount in excess of the money spent (i.e. the value of the Reward) will not be refunded. If the Reward redemption period has not expired, the value of the Reward will be returned to the Offers section of the Valid Account and will be available for use by the Eligible Participant up until the Reward expiry date. PayPal reserves the right to cancel, suspend or modify this offer in part or in its entirety at any time without notice, for any reason in its sole discretion. Similar offers may run at the same time; qualification for this offer does not constitute qualification for any other offer. PayPal is not responsible and/or liable if any e-mail, Reward, or offer-related materials or correspondence are lost, fraudulent, abusive, stolen, late, incomplete, illegible, interrupted, delayed, altered, defective, misdirected, tampered with, or irregular in any way or if any participant’s e-mail address, Valid Account, or other contact information does not work, is deleted, or is changed without participant giving prior written notice to PayPal. PayPal reserves the right to review any account or transaction related to this offer, in its sole discretion, without notice, and delay or reverse completion of the Reward. Offer is void where prohibited or if Eligible Participant’s account or transaction are fraudulent, abusive, not completed through legitimate channels, or irregular in any way. Offer is not transferable. Participation in offer is subject to PayPal’s User Agreement. Any questions relating to the offer will be resolved in PayPal’s sole discretion and its decisions related to the offer will be final and binding.

Governing law and jurisdiction. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. By participating in the offer, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and the PayPal’s User Agreement. The courts of England shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions.
