Setting up and managing your Money Pool

Can I keep receiving contributions once my Money Pool reaches its goal?
Yes, people can contribute to your pool until you decide to end or delete it, even if you’ve exceeded your goal amount. Please note that you are responsible for spending the money collected for the purpose set out in your Money Pool's page and no rights arise in the pool for you or the contributors.

Does my Money Pool stop accepting contributions once the end date has been reached?
Once your Money Pool reaches its end date it will close and contributions can no longer be accepted. However, you may extend your pool’s end date any time before the end date was reached.

How do I extend a Money Pool?

  1. Go to Summary
  2. Click on Details in the Money Pools module.
  3. Select the pool you'd like to extend.
  4. Click Manage Pool.
  5. Click Edit Pool.
  6. Find the end date and click Edit.
  7. Set a new date and click Save.

How do I end my Money Pool?
  1. Go to Summary.
  2. Click Details in the Money Pools module.
  3. Select the pool you'd like to end.
  4. Click Manage Pool.
  5. Click Edit Pool.
  6. Find the end date and click Edit.
  7. Click Close pool. From this point, nobody will be able to contribute to your pool.

What happens after I end my Money Pool?
After you end your pool you will no longer be able to accept contributions. You will still be able see all the contributions but will no longer be able to edit it. To transfer the money, click the transfer button. Please note that no rights arise in the pool for you or the contributors.

How do I refund Money Pool contributors?
  1. Go to Send and Request Money.
  2. Enter the recipient's name, email or number and click Next.
  3. Click Sending to a friend.
  4. Enter the amount and click Continue.
  5. Review the information and click Send money now.
Because the money is sent from your balance, neither of you will pay a fee. Please note that it’s your responsibility to coordinate and resolve disputes with contributors and PayPal does not arbitrate these disputes.

Can I hide the contribution amount and details of contributors on my Money Pool?
Yes. When you create a Money Pool you can decide if you want to share your contributors’ names on the pool page. If you want them to remain anonymous, your pool will only display the total collected amount. You can change this at any time by clicking Manage Pool from the appropriate pool’s page. Contributors can choose to remain anonymous even if you’ve set up your Money Pool to share their info. If a contributor chooses to remain anonymous, their details (name, email, contribution amount and contribution date) will only be viewable by you, the organiser.

Can I contribute to my own Money Pool?
Unfortunately, you can't send money to yourself or add money to your own pool at present.

Is there a limit to how much money I can collect using PayPal Money Pools? 
No, there is no limit.

How do I change the currency in which I’m collecting Money Pool contributions?
All received contributions will be collected in your PayPal account’s default currency.
