How does manual card entry with Point of Sale work?

Manual card entry allows you to accept card payments from customers who aren’t physically present.

To accept manual card entry payments, enter your customer’s card details into the Point of Sale App when they check out.

This feature shouldn’t be used when a customer is in your store.

How do I turn on manual card entry?

To enable Manual Card Entry, you must first take a card payment through a Card Reader. You can then enable the feature from the menu in the Point of Sale App, by tapping Settings, manual card entry, then activate.

Here’s how to take a manual card entry payment:

  1. Choose a product from the Product Library or enter a Manual Amount.
  2. Review your Shopping Cart or go to checkout by clicking Charge.
  3. Choose Manual Card Entry.
  4. Enter the card details.
  5. Wait for approval.
  6. Send the receipt via SMS or email if desired.

How do I get paid for manual card entry payments?

You are paid directly into your PayPal account. As a result, money from manual card entry won’t appear in your Point of Sale App daily deposit email or on the Point of Sale App deposits page. Manual card entry payments will, however be visible in your sales overview and reporting.

Are manual card entry payments covered by Seller Protection?

Manual card entry payments aren’t covered by Seller Protection.
