What information do I need to provide to confirm my charity status?
You can begin the confirmation process on our Charities page. You'll need to provide information to prove that:
- Your organization is legally registered with the appropriate regulatory body
- You are a representative of that organization
Examples of information that may be required:
- A letter of authorization
- Contact details
- Proof of identity
- Proof of business registration
- Proof of address
- Stakeholder details
- Business information
Once confirmed as a charity, your charity can accept donations with PayPal.
For organizations located in the Philippines, customers should provide one of the following documents:
- Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Tax Exemption Certificate
- NGO Certificate of Registration issued by the Bureau of Internal Revenue
The document must have a clear indication of:
- Name of organization
- Period of validity (i.e. must have a start and end date)
How is this account information used?
We use these documents to verify that the charity or nonprofit is registered and to ensure that we meet our regulatory requirements for the government. Donors also need to know that their money is going to a registered nonprofit organization.
