Why did I get API error code 10606?

Issue
PayPal returned API error code 10606 - Buyer cannot pay. Transaction rejected, please contact the buyer.

Cause
PayPal can’t use the credit card that’s being used.

Solution
If the error code displays after checkout, use another method to collect the funds from the buyer. To avoid this issue, merchants should:

Capture when shipping the order.
Re-authorize (within the honor period of 10 days) when the fulfillment is delayed.
