How do I transfer money to my bank account?

Here's how you can transfer money to your bank account:

  1. Go to My wallet.
  2. Click Transfer Money.
  3. Click Transfer to your bank.
  4. Select the bank account where you want to deposit the amount withdrawn, then click Continue.
  5. Enter the amount and click Next.
  6. Review your transfer and click Transfer Now.

  • You can also transfer money from your PayPal balance by requesting a check. (There is a fee for check withdrawals.)

A few things to bear in mind:

If you have a PayPal account in Costa Rica
  • From June 30, 2020, the current withdrawal method with Banco Nacional will be discontinued. Simply re-link your local bank account to your PayPal account to continue to withdraw funds.
  • You can link any local bank accounts which accepts local currency (colones). You will still be able to link a bank account in USD with our local partners. Click here for details.
  • Typically, withdrawals take 2-3 business days.  
If you have a PayPal account in Kuwait:
  • You can only withdraw money to a U.S. Bank account. 

If you have a PayPal account in South Africa:

You can withdraw withdraw money from your PayPal account directly to your First National Bank of South Africa (FNB) or any linked South African bank account.
You will need an FNB Online Banking profile. If you don't bank with FNB, you can create a free FNB Online Banking profile and link your PayPal account to your South African bank account. 
To link your PayPal account to your FNB account:
  1. Log in to your FNB Online Banking profile at
  2. Click Forex, then click PayPal Services.
  3. Select the menu option on the left, then select Link PayPal Profile.
  4. Complete the instructions to link your accounts. You’ll need to login to your PayPal account to confirm that you are the account holder.
To link your PayPal account to your other South African bank account if you don’t have an FNB account:
  1. Go to
  2. Click Register, then click Register for PayPal for non FNB customers.
You will need to submit certain FICA (The Financial Intelligence Centre Act) documents via email ( to complete the registration. Once you've completed the FICA process, you can link your verified PayPal account to your bank account(s). You'll be able to add your non-FNB account for withdrawal purposes.
After linking your PayPal account to your bank account, here’s how to withdraw money:
  1. Log in to your FNB Online Banking profile at
  2. Click Forex, then click PayPal Services.
  3. Select the menu option on the left, then select Withdraw from PayPal.
  4. Enter the withdrawal amount in US Dollars (make sure you have enough money in your PayPal balance to make this withdrawal).
  5. Follow the instructions to confirm the exchange rate, the Rand amount you will receive, and the transaction terms and conditions.
You’ll be taken back to the PayPal website to log in and review the amount you are withdrawing to your FNB or other South African bank account. After completing this, you’ll then be sent back to the FNB website. You'll receive your money in your FNB bank account within 3 to 5 business days.
If you have PayPal account in Antigua & Barbuda, Albania, Algeria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Egypt, Fiji, Grenada, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, Malawi, New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Palau, Seychelles, Turks & Caicos Islands, Trinidad & Tobago:
  • Your Balance: Both commercial and personal payments you receive go to your pending balance. They belong to you, but you can't use them or withdraw them usually for 30 days. This is a holding period for new sellers. We’ll review it later when you have a successful selling history with us and then the payments you receive will be added to your available balance.
    • Note: Mass payments you receive are exempted from holds and they become available immediately.
  • Your Withdrawals: On the first day of every month, your available balance is transferred automatically to the Visa card or U.S. bank account that you selected. This automatic transfer is free.
