Why is my transaction status "to be paid" for my digital goods transaction?

If the status of your digital goods transaction shows “to be paid,” it means that we’ve paid the merchant for you and the money hasn’t been deducted from your PayPal balance, or your credit or debit card. You’ll be charged only until you’ve spent up to a certain amount or after certain days from the first purchase, whichever comes first. For more information about this transaction, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click Activity at the top of the page.
  3. Click on the transaction to see details.

If you want to change the way you pay for digital goods, you can update your checkout settings easily from your Profile. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click Settings (the gear icon) at the top of the page.
  3. Click Payments.
  4. Click Manage Automatic Payments in the “Automatic payments” section.
  5. Select the payment preference you wish to use.
  6. Click Update settings.
  7. Click Yes to update your settings.

You can update your settings once every 6 months.
