If an eligible item you’ve purchased online doesn’t arrive or doesn’t match the seller’s description, let us know and we’ll look into it. If we find something is wrong, our Buyer Protection will reimburse you for the full purchase price of the eligible item plus shipping costs.

If you’re sent an unauthorized payment (for example, from a hacked account) or a buyer claims they didn’t receive their item, our Seller Protection covers you for the full amount of the payment on eligible sales.

Who you are is how you pay

Our greatest safeguard is you. Your memory protects your login information and lets you pay without exposing your card numbers. If you forget your login, you can use your privacy questions to get back into your account.

Chargebacks

When a buyer requests a chargeback or fund reversal from their credit card provider or bank, we’ll work with you to resolve the issue. We may put a hold on the associated funds in your account, just in case. We’re involved at every step of the process and will keep you informed.

Something smell phishy?

We’ll never ask you to provide sensitive information in an email, so if something seems like it might be a hoax, let us know. Not sure if that email you’ve received or website you’ve stumbled across is the real deal? Email it to us at spoof@paypal.com, and we’ll investigate.
