How do I edit the information in my PayPal payment buttons?

How you edit your item information depends on whether your site uses a third-party shopping cart or PayPal payment buttons.

Third-party shopping carts
If you're using a third-party shopping cart, refer to your shopping cart provider's documentation for help modifying payment buttons.

Unencrypted buttons
If you're using an unencrypted HTML PayPal payment button, open your website's code and locate the following values:

<input type="hidden" name="business" value="email@emaildomain.com">
<input type="hidden" name="item_name" value="my test item">
<input type="hidden" name="amount" value="1">

Edit this type of button by changing the values. For example, if you want to increase the price from 1 dollar to 5 dollars, change the value of the amount variable from 1 to 5.

Hosted buttons
If you're using PayPal hosted buttons, locate the following code:

<input type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="FQCFAJW5BR9T4">

Here's how to edit a hosted button:

  1. On the Make a PayPal Button page, select View your saved buttons.
  2. Locate the button you want to change using the value from your code.
  3. Edit the button, then click Update Saved Button.

Note: If you edited a hosted button's drop-down menus or text boxes, paste the modified HTML code back into your website after saving your changes. Changes won't take effect in the live environment until you update the button's source code.
