Why did I get API error code 10544?

PayPal returned error code 10544 - This transaction cannot be processed. Please use a different payment card.

This error occurred because:
  • The credit card was refused due to your Risk Filter or Preferences settings in PayPal.
  • The credit card's issuing bank refused the credit card transaction.

To resolve this issue, try another payment card or contact PayPal Customer Service for more information. PayPal can confirm that the request was processed normally, but can't give details as to why it was refused.
